TITLE: Technical Product Manager

DURATION: 3 6 month contract-to-hire.

LOCATION (hybrid work schedule): Austin, TX. (Open to candidates who will relocate on their own penny).

MUST HAVES:

1. This position is ideal for a former developer, software engineer, or web developer someone with hands-on experience in development, coding, and the entire application development lifecycle. We're seeking a highly technical individual with expert-level development knowledge who is currently working as a Senior Product Manager. While their primary focus is now on product management, they should still have the ability to dive into coding if necessary.
2. Previously worked for a SaaS company.
3. Previously worked on an OTT project.
4. 8 years or more of experience in a Technical Product Management role.
5. College education: Computer Science/Software Engineering degree or very similar (Mathematics would also work).

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Define and oversee SaaS platform architecture to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver flexible, high-quality solutions.
• Provide technical insights during system design discussions.

Product Strategy & Planning

• Translate business needs into detailed product specifications.
• Develop technical artifacts, such as flowcharts, wireframes, journey maps, and roadmaps.
• Propose innovative solutions to address customer pain points.

Design & Documentation

• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including:
  • Use case, activity, and sequence diagrams.
  • Component and class diagrams (as needed).

Lifecycle Management

• Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch and iterative improvements.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and align with business objectives.

Collaboration

• Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and customer success, to drive product success.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, technical product management, or a combination of both.
• Solid technical background with expertise in backend system design and scalable cloud architectures.
• Proficiency in creating detailed technical documentation and diagrams (e.g., UML).
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud-based SaaS architectures and large-scale product design.
• Familiarity with OTT (Over-the-Top) and video streaming technologies.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Expertise in mobile and TV app ecosystems (e.g., iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV).

• Self-motivated and adept at working in a global, multicultural environment.
• Leadership qualities to mentor and inspire teams.
