Job Description
The Total Cost of Ownership Product Model will be the cutting-edge analytical model that transforms the way the Cigna Group measures its technology spend and aligns that spend back to business units and stakeholders. The dimensions of the analytical model include but are not limited to:
- Generating the total cost to run and operate products via the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
- Accounting for utilization of products by business unit and technology organization
This role serves to mature, run and support the Total Cost of Ownership product by reducing the amount of indirect allocation and unallocated amounts through data governance and mapping. The product owner will become proficient in the Technology Business Framework which is the industry framework for spend to consumption model. Assume that this role will evolve to become the foundation for persistently funded products.
- Participate in roadmap definition and presenting solutions to stakeholders.
- Own/ Lead Vision for the product
- Ensure that the value of the customer experience and the “why” remains the focus through the breakdown and delivery of work.
- Provide servant-leadership for teams and support continuous improvement activities to help a team consistently deliver working code.
- Own, develop, and maintain a healthy backlog of features and stories ensuring that the business value remains the focus.
- Coordinate teamwork efforts to maximize velocity and value delivery.
- Accept stories to ensure they meet the defined acceptance criteria – validate with the Business Product Owner that the stories accomplish the feature level definition of done.
- Coordinate and complete release activities including release notes, communications, user documentation, and reporting.
- Prepare release demos for Technology Finance, users and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain a bug triage and coordinate with L3 support process.
A Successful Product Owner will:
- Accept, author or co-author features that meet the team’s definition of ready.
- Create user stories that meet the team’s definition of ready and are easily moved from the backlog and accepted into a sprint.
- Create user stories that specific and testable.
- Provide Sprint demo’s that demonstrate value.
- Speak to and explain the why behind decisions around technical defects to lay people.
- Work with the team to ensure a successful co-owned release management process.
- Ensure that the product satisfies testing evidence prior to deployment of releases
- Ensure that the product gains approval from finance prior to deployment of releases
- Be able to develop L2/L3 support documentation that gives the ability for L2/L3 support to triage your teams code base without assistance.
